彼は8年前に北海道の静寂な雪景色に出会い、この新しいモチーフに心酔、23歳の時に同地に移住した。以後、北海道や東北など本の雪景色を中心とする写真作品を発表し、国内外で高い評価を獲得している。

雪や氷の部分は余白で表される一方、木々が織りなす淡い黒のグラデーションは、まるで水墨画のように繊細である。
ラオは東洋美術の精神性にも通じる日本の雪景色に、心の原風景を見いだしている。そして諸外国で展示を重ねるうちに、そうした感情がグローバルに共有可能なものだということも発見した。彼と日本の雪景色の関係は、今後も途切れず続いていくだろう...

在雪和冰的部份以留白表示的同時、樹木肌理交織而成的淡黑漸變，完全是水墨畫的纖細。
凝視作品的細部，樹木間的相連如同以毛筆的筆觸線部份，
劉氏以東洋美術的精神連結日本雪景，發掘出其心象的原風景。並透過在不同國家的展出，發現了這種感情能在各地也能共通...

Eight years ago, he encountered the serenity of the snowy white world in Hokkaido. He fell in love with the scenery before his eyes and started living there, at the age of 23. Since then his photographs centered around Hokkaido and Japan's northeast landscape have received critical acclaim around the world.

The snow and ice represent the empty space in the picture, while layers and details of superimposed entagled trees into many shades of light black, creating a seemingly delicate black and white painting.

When gazing into the details, the interconnecting parts of the trees seem like thin lines painted with the tip of the brush. Season Lao connected the snow scenery in Japan with the Japanese aesthetic spirit while discovering the imaginary landscape in his heart. Later he found out through exhibitions around the world that these emotions could resonate universally.

Há oito anos, Season Lao encontrou a serenidade do mundo branco de neve em Hokkaido, apaixonou-se por essa paisagem e mudou-se para a cidade aos 23 anos de idade. A partir de então, as suas fotografias centradas em Hokkaido e na região nordeste do Japão têm sido aclamadas pela crítica em todo o mundo.

A neve e o gelo formam o espaço em branco da imagem, enquanto as várias camadas e detalhes das árvores se enredam em múltiplas gradações de preto, criando uma aparente e delicada pintura a preto e branco.

Ao atentar nos detalhes, as partes interligadas das árvores fazem lembrar linhas finas pintadas com a ponta do pincel. Season Lao conectou a paisagem de neve do Japão com o espírito estético japonês e descobriu a paisagem imaginária no seu coração. Mais tarde, através das suas exposições noutros países, descobriu que essa emoção parece ser universal.
